Vacancy Information
Are you passionate about food and love working with children, but looking for a role with more hours and responsibility than a typical lunchtime supervisor job?
We are looking for enthusiastic Early Years Food and Nutrition Champions to join our team. In this role, you’ll be a mentor and a "food explorer" for our children aged 0-5. You will spend your day supporting early education and leading the way during mealtimes to turn every snack and lunch into a fun, healthy adventure.
No formal qualifications? No problem. If you have a big heart, a positive attitude toward healthy eating, and a knack for connecting with families, we will provide all the training you need to become our in-house expert on growing happy, healthy eaters.
A Day in the Life
- 09:00 - The Morning Spark: You’ll join the educators in the classroom, diving into play-based learning, building the trust and bonds with the children that make mealtimes successful later.
- 10:00 - Morning Snack Time Discovery: You’ll turn snack time into learning, preparing healthy and nutritious food together, engaging in back and forth conversations and encouraging children to be brave "food explorers" in a relaxed, supportive environment.
- 11:30 - The Social Lunch: This is your time to shine! You’ll sit with the children, modelling great table manners and enthusiastically trying the food yourself. You’ll use your training to gently encourage hesitant eaters to try new foods and support all children to enjoy the healthy option.
- 13:00 - Family & Team Connection: You’ll catch up with key people and contact parents to share "wins" - like a child trying spinach for the first time! You will plan how to further support children in partnership with their key adults.
- 13.30 - Afternoon Snack Time Discovery: More delicious food, learning and opportunities to try new things - lead by you, our in house nutrition enthusiast!
Our Investment in You (Training Provided)
We don’t expect you to be an expert on day one. We are committed to helping you grow through:
1. Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene: A certified qualification in food safety.
2. Pediatric First Aid: Full training to ensure you can keep our little ones safe.
3. "Positive Mealtimes" Mentorship: Specialist coaching on handling "fussy eating" and food education.
4. Early Years Foundation (EYFS) Basics: Learning the ropes of how children develop through play.
5. Allergy Awareness: Becoming the go-to person for managing dietary needs and inclusion.
Who You Are
- You have a genuine love for working with children aged 0-5.
- You are a "people person" who feels comfortable chatting with both toddlers and parents.
- You are a team player who wants to be a core part of an educational environment.
- You believe that healthy habits start early and want to help shape the next generation.
