Communication and Interaction Specialist Teacher

Our SCIL Team vision is to offer a flexible and responsive service, supporting schools, private, voluntary and independent (PVI) (birth-5 years) settings and parent/carers to better understand and meet the needs of children and young people across Bradford to improve outcomes and life chances.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Social, Communication, Interaction and Learning (SCIL) Team as a Specialist Teacher of Communication and Interaction. We are looking to appoint an experienced, knowledgeable and skilled teacher who is passionate about making a difference to the learning opportunities and well-being of children and young people with communication and interaction differences across the Bradford District.
You will work alongside key staff in schools to support them to develop their inclusive mainstream provision including identifying need to effectively support children and young people with communication and interaction differences through high quality teaching, reasonable adjustments and additional provision.
Experience of meeting the needs of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and the ability to enhance teaching practice in mainstream settings is essential.
Responsibilities of the post include ensuring that the safety and welfare of children and young people is paramount by implementing the relevant safeguarding practice and policies and liaising with other council colleagues including the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) where appropriate.
