Experienced Early Years Teacher (Maternity Cover)

To cover our Under 3s unit Lead Teacher role

MPS+TLR 2 /UPS, 32.5 hours per week

To start from 10th February 2025

Fixed term contract of one year

At Strong Close Nursery School, we provide a range of high quality, integrated, well-resourced and inclusive early years school provision to make a difference and improve outcomes for all our young children under 5.

Vacancy Information

Our rich learning environment both indoors and outdoors helps to engage and inspire children aged from 2 to 5 years old, supporting their learning and development across all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. We are also a designated Early Years Enhanced Specialist provision, with places allocated by the Local Authority for supporting children with Special Educational Needs. 

This is an important role to lead our inclusive, under 3s unit and staff team within the school. You will take responsibility for agreed learning activities and this will involve leading your team on planning, preparing and delivering learning for individuals or groups of children.

Other duties include:

  • To be part of the Senior Leadership Team and work alongside the Headteacher, Assistant Headteacher and SENDCo in developing and implementing a high-quality curriculum for children from two years of age.

The right candidates for the above post will have:

  • An excitement about supporting children’s learning and development
  • An understanding of how to enable all children to make the very best progress they can
  • The ability to build trust and strong relationships with children, parents and colleagues
  • An understanding of the importance of maintaining and developing high quality learning environments
  • Substantial knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and framework
  • A commitment to collaborative working
  • Be able to work alongside the Senior Leadership in developing and implementing a high-quality curriculum for children from two to three years of age.
