English Hub Lead
Are you ready for the next step or a change in direction in your career? Are you looking for a unique opportunity? Do you want to be based in a fantastic school leading a specialist team improving the teaching of phonics and reading across Bradford and North Yorkshire as part of our DfE English Hub?
We are seeking an outstanding English specialist who will lead our DfE English Hub. You will take on the day to day running of the Hub, alongside the Strategic Lead and Hub Manager, whilst also working in collaboration with the teaching team at Burley Woodhead. There is also an opportunity to work as a literacy specialist in other schools.
Initially this role is fixed term to 31 August 2025 as the Hub funding is dependent on annual grant renewal. Successful continuation of funding will allow this position to roll over into the following academic year or years.
There is flexibility as we look for the right candidate who can work 3 or 4 days per week. There is a potential for a job share.
We were designated as one of 34 DfE English Hubs across England in September 2018 and since then have supported over 300 schools in Bradford and North Yorkshire in phonics, early language and reading. You will continue to build on the excellent practice we have developed over the past 6 years by managing our team of 14 expert Literacy Specialists, supporting schools with their phonics, early language and reading teaching, delivering training to teachers and liaising with the DfE on a regular basis.
You will:
