We are seeking an exceptional and dynamic individual to lead our successful PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities) special school as Headteacher. The school is currently judged as 'good' by OFSTED and we are looking for a leader who can further improve the high-quality provision in place and continue to drive the school to new heights of excellence.

The successful candidate will possess exceptional and consistent positive leadership skills, with a proven track record of inspiring and motivating staff, students, and stakeholders to achieve outstanding outcomes. They will have a deep understanding of the unique needs of students with PMLD and a commitment to providing an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and vision to drive continuous improvement and achieve outstanding outcomes for all students.
  • Foster a positive school culture that promotes the well-being and personal development of students, staff, and the wider school community.
  • Lead and empower a team of dedicated professionals to deliver high-quality, innovative, and inclusive education that meets the complex needs of all our students.
  • Develop and implement effective systems for monitoring, evaluating, and enhancing the quality of teaching and learning across the school.
  • Cultivate strong partnerships with parents, carers, external agencies, and the local community to ensure the holistic development and support of students.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant postgraduate qualification in education leadership or management.
  • Proven experience as a successful senior leader within a special educational needs (SEN) or PMLD setting, with a track record of driving positive change and achieving outstanding outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, resource management, and implementing initiatives that have positively impacted the educational experience of students with complex needs.
  • A thorough understanding of the OFSTED framework and a track record of successfully leading and managing inspections.

  • Inspirational and motivational leader with a clear commitment to inclusive education and the well-being of students with PMLD.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with staff, governors, parents, and external stakeholders.
  • Visionary and forward-thinking, with the ability to inspire innovation and creativity in educational practice.
