The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile which is shown in this advert outlines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate.  Therefore, it is essential that you provide examples in your application.

 An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the SCIL Team as a Specialist Teacher. We are looking to appoint an experienced, knowledgeable and skilled Teacher who is passionate about making a difference to the learning opportunities for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the Bradford District. 

You will work alongside key staff in schools to support them to identify and effectively support children and young people with Special Education Needs and Disabilities through high quality teaching, reasonable adjustments and additional provision.

The successful candidate will be able to enhance teaching practice in mainstream settings. Essential attributes to fulfil this role include experience in SEND, a working knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and a thorough understanding of SEMH.
