Physical Development Lead and Sports Coach (with PPA Cover)
Salary: Band 8, SCP 17-22 (£18,501 to £20,427 per annum)
Permanent - Full Time
32.5 hours per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 8.50am to 3.45pm, Wednesday 8.50am to 4.45pm, Friday 8.50am to 3.15pm, with a team meeting starting at 8.15am one day a week) Term Time plus 5 days.
Chellow Heights is a generic special school catering for children with a wide range of learning, physical, medical, sensory, social, emotional and behavioural needs aged 2 to 11 years.
We are located across two sites, in BD9 (Heaton) and BD6 (Low Moor), and staff will be expected to work at either location. This permanent role will be predominantly based at our West (BD9) site, with a strategic overview of our South (BD6) site, (visiting one half day per fortnight).

Prime Obvectives of this post
- To complement the professional work of teachers by taking managerial responsibility for activities under an agreed system of supervision to cover for absent teachers absent for PPA.
- To lead on the development of physical skills for all pupils within school including delivering and organising Rebound Sessions.
- To provide specialist sports sessions for whole school, classes, small groups and individuals including disability sports
- To organise and support the delivery of specialist sports fixtures within site, across site and across district
- Promote health and wellbeing, healthy lifestyles and ‘sportability’ as a skill for life
- To liaise closely with SLT to promote healthy lifestyles.
- To support the development of sporting knowledge and skills in teachers and other managers
