Hours of Work: 20 hours per week, term time only plus 2 weeks, 3:30pm - 7.30pm Monday - Friday

Skipton Girls' High School is looking to appoint a Cleaning Supervisor to join our Facilities Team and play an important role in ensuring that our school provides a safe, clean and well-maintained environment for pupils, staff and visitors. The successful candidate will lead the cleaning team and help promote a positive and welcoming school setting.
Duties will include (although this list is not exhaustive):
  • Undertake daily cleaning inspections to ensure high standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the school.
  • Identify and address areas requiring attention, discussing any concerns with the cleaning team and monitoring improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records of cleaning inspections, actions taken and any issues identified.
  • Meet regularly with the Estates Manager to review cleaning standards, discuss priorities and resolve any operational issues.
  • Provide day-to-day support, guidance and supervision to cleaning staff.
  • Assist with the induction, training and development of new cleaning team members.
  • Allocate cleaning duties and monitor the completion of tasks to ensure cleaning schedules are adhered to.
  • Promote and maintain safe working practices, ensuring compliance with health and safety and COSHH regulations.
  • Monitor cleaning equipment and materials, reporting defects, shortages or replacement requirements to the Estates Manager.
  • Report any maintenance, security or health and safety concerns identified during inspections.
  • Assist with arranging cleaning cover during periods of staff absence where required.
  • Undertake cleaning duties as necessary to support the team and ensure service standards are maintained.
