We are seeking to appoint a friendly, organised and enthusiastic Administrative Assistant to join our dedicated school team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy office environment and takes pride in delivering a professional and welcoming service to pupils, parents, staff and visitors.

About the role:

As our Administrative Assistant, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the school office, providing high-quality administrative, clerical, reception and financial support. You will be the first point of contact for many visitors and will help ensure the school operates efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a warm and professional reception service, both in person and over the telephone.
  • Undertake a range of administrative duties including data entry, filing, scanning, photocopying and preparing correspondence.
  • Maintain accurate records using school management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Support the organisation of meetings, school events and visits.
  • Assist with pupil welfare, including liaising with parents where appropriate.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with safeguarding, data protection and health and safety procedures.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has excellent interpersonal skills and can deal with challenging conversations calmly, professionally and with empathy.
  • Has experience working in an office or administrative environment.
  • Is confident using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Is organised, accurate and able to prioritise their workload.
  • Can work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, discretion and a commitment to safeguarding children.
  • Holds GCSE English and Mathematics (Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent).

Experience of working in a school environment and knowledge of systems such as SIMS, ParentPay and SchoolPing would be an advantage but are not essential as full training and support will be given.
