An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the SCIL Team as a Specialist Teacher on a casual basis.  We are looking to appoint experienced, knowledgeable and skilled Specialist Teachers who are passionate about making a difference to the learning opportunities for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the Bradford District.  

You will work alongside key staff in schools to support them to identify and effectively support children and young people with SEND through high quality teaching, reasonable adjustments and additional provision.

Experience of SEND and the ability to enhance teaching practice in mainstream settings is essential.

Casuals will be employed on an ‘as and when’ basis (with no agreement made on the particular number of hours or times worked). This would be dependent on the short term or specific need for Specialist staff.

Responsibilities of the post include ensuring that the safety and welfare of children and young people is paramount by implementing the relevant safeguarding practice and policies and liaising with other council colleagues including the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) where appropriate.
