Administrative Assistant/Receptionist

Band 6 SCP 6-11 depending on experience (actual £22,125 to £23,583)

37 hours per week, Term time only

8.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 4pm on a Friday

Riddlesden St Mary's is a forward thinking, innovative school with a strong and supportive team. We are looking for an approachable, enthusiastic, self motivated and hard-working individual to join our school office as a Administrative Assistant/Receptionist.  

Vacancy Information

As a member of the School Office team, who are the first point of contact to all visitors, you must be professional, friendly and welcoming to all visitors, staff and pupils at all times. You must be organised and flexible in order to deal with the varied administrative and receptionist duties involved. We are a busy 2 form entry school so you will need to have the ability to keep calm, have excellent communication skills and be able to manage changing priorities effectively.  

This would ideally suit someone with previous School Office experience, but consideration will also be given to suitable candidates with similar experience in another setting.  

The successful candidate will:

  • Be able to demonstrate a very high standard of verbal and written communicative skills and the ability to liaise confidently with all stakeholders
  • Have the ability to work using their own initiative and as part of a team, prioritising their work effectively with the capacity to problem solve in a calm and professional manner
  • Be an excellent and creative team player with strong interpersonal skills and a fluid and flexible approach and the ability to multi-task in a busy office
  • Have good ICT skills including Microsoft Office, Word & Excel and preferably experience of using SIMs
