Are you an organised, proactive and friendly administrative professional looking for a rewarding role in a vibrant primary school? Addingham Primary School is seeking a dedicated Administrative Assistant (maternity cover) to join our welcoming team and support the smooth running of our busy school office.

About the role:

As our Administrative Assistant, you will be at the heart of our school’s daily operations. Reporting to the Office Manager and Headteacher, you will provide flexible, efficient clerical, financial and reception support that keeps everything running smoothly.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing reception duties, welcoming visitors, and handling enquiries with warmth and professionalism
  • Providing high-quality clerical support such as diary management, data input, filing, and correspondence
  • Assisting with financial administration including handling school funds and supporting budget processes
  • Helping organise school events, trips, and external visits

You will work with initiative and confidence within established procedures, prioritising tasks and liaising with senior staff to ensure excellent service to pupils, parents and staff.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is experienced in office administration, ideally within a school or busy office environment
  • Has strong IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office and is comfortable with data management and financial record keeping
  • Communicates clearly and confidently, able to handle enquiries from a diverse range of people with patience and professionalism
  • Is organised, reliable, and able to use their own initiative while working collaboratively as part of a team
