Experienced Learning Mentor 

Salary: Band 8, SCP 17-22

Required for September 2025

32.50 hours per week - Term Time only (Permanent)

The Governing Body of this successful school are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Learning Mentor to provide a higher level of support for teaching and learning under the direction of the pastoral lead.

The successful applicant will:

  • Be passionate about inclusion, forward-thinking, positive and resilient
  • Be an effective practitioner who can communicate well with parents, children and other staff and can work using their own initiative
  • Be confident that you have the ability to help all children excel and enjoy during their time at Blakehill Primary
  • Support the learning of pupils, aiming always for the highest possible standards of pupil achievement, personal development and well-being
  • Help pupils to become confident and successful learners
  • Follow and uphold all guidelines on health and safety and security
  • Promote a positive behaviour ethos
  • Co-operate professionally with other colleagues
  • Put the wellbeing, development, and progress of pupils first  
  • Demonstrate respect for diversity and promote equality
  • Work effectively as part of whole school teams
  • Strive to establish productive and supportive partnerships with parents and carers
  • Demonstrate honesty, integrity and uphold public trust and confidence
  • Promote and be committed to the aims, objectives, and values of Blakehill Primary School
  • Work on the school’s safeguarding team acting on Child Protection and Safeguarding concerns, following school’s policies and procedures
  • To work within an extended range of networks and partnerships to broker support and learning opportunities and improve the quality of services to pupils both within and outside of school
