Level 2 Teaching Assistant to Support a Child with an EHCP

1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

20 hours per week, 9am – 1pm Monday to Friday, Term Time Only, Scale 3, SCP 5-6

The post is Fixed Term to 31 August 2025 (in the first instance) due to being externally funded by an Education Health Care Plans for an individual child.

We are looking for a temporary, Level 2 Teaching Assistant to work one-to-one with a pupil with an EHCP.

Vacancy Information

The successful candidate will need to:

  • Have experience of supporting the individual needs of children
  • Be willing to support the wider work of the school
  • Be a well organised, friendly and flexible team player, with good interpersonal skills
  • Be committed to forging excellent relationships with pupils, staff, parents and other professionals
  • Have an interest/aptitude for facilitating inclusion
  • Be willing to undertake training relevant to the role and the needs of the child

Priorities for the successful candidate will be:

  • To recognise and respond to the individual needs of children with EHCPs whilst ensuring their safety and education in the learning environment
  • To establish constructive relationships with children and interact with them according to individual needs
  • To assist with the development and implementation of EHCPs (including meeting personal care, hygiene needs, and therapy and medical interventions needs, of the children)
