Vacancy Information

This is an exciting time for the Oastlers at Keighley community. We are seeking to appoint a Teacher with additional responsibility to work at our Keighley site which is expanding. We require someone who not only understands pedagogy, but one who is also sympathetic and sensitive to the difficulties our learners face in their lives and help them overcome those barriers to succeed.

We need a Teacher/Leader who is able to cope with highly complex problems, particularly in Child Protection and challenging behaviours.  Some of our learners are involved in risk-taking activities such as; substance misuse, going missing, vulnerability to exploitation and much more.  They may lead chaotic lifestyles, suffer from neglect, abuse and experience family turbulence. You will need to be someone experienced and who understands these issues but also someone who provides clear, solution-based approaches to enable our learners to succeed and fulfil their ambitions despite the challenges.

Oastlers School is part of Exceed Academies Trust, which currently consists of fourteen schools’; ten primary schools, an all-through primary-to-secondary academy, two alternative provision academies (Primary and Secondary), and ours a specialist setting for children/young people who suffer from social, emotional and mental health difficulties. The Trust has an excellent reputation within Bradford and beyond, and an outstanding track record of supporting staff in developing their careers through specialist training lead by the Exceed Teaching School Hub and our Outstanding SCITT.
