Lead Attendance Officer

Salary: Band 8 Point 17 (Actual salary £22,914)

Responsible to: Deputy Headteacher

Responsible for: Attendance Team

Working Pattern: 35 hours per week, Term Time Only

The Governors of The Holy Family Catholic School wish to appoint a Lead Attendance Officer.

The Lead Attendance Officer will be part of a small team who are critical in supporting students, parents and carers with attendance

Vacancy Information

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on whole-school attendance data, analysing data to identify key areas of concern, work closely with Senior Leadership team, students, staff, parents and carers to maximise attendance levels, and will act appropriately when persistent absence becomes a safeguarding issue and in line with statutory responsibilities.

The successful applicant will have:

  • GCSE or equivalent level, including at least a C/4 in English and Maths.
  • Experience working in a school environment or other educational setting
  • Experience identifying interventions to raise attendance of pupils
  • Experience working directly with pupils and parents
  • Experience working collaboratively with colleagues
  • Experience analysing data and producing reports and identifying key insights

The Holy Family Catholic School, a Voluntary Academy is part of The Blessed Christopher Wharton Catholic Academy Trust, serving the town of Keighley and surrounding villages in pleasant rural surroundings. The school is on a rapid improvement journey. Governors appointed a new Headteacher in September 2021, and the school leadership team has also been recently restructured.
