At Abbey Green Nursery School we provide care and education for children from 3 months to 5 years. We have a highly experienced, professional staff team across the organisation. We provide designated Early Years Enhanced Specialist Provision, supporting children with special educational needs and/or disabilities to achieve the very best they can. We have various positions available.
This post will be supporting children within the 2-3 years provision. You will support the room leader with planning and environment preparation and act as a key person. You will have a good understanding of the plan, do, review approach and be knowledgeable in the use of a variety of communication methods, such as Makaton and PECS.
The successful applicants will play an important role, working with colleagues to support children’s progress. They will be joining a team of knowledgeable, hardworking and highly motivated practitioners and will support them in ensuring high quality nursery provision.
The right candidates will;
- Have an understanding of how to enable young children to make the very best progress they can, including children who have special educational needs and/or disabilities
- Have the ability to build trust and strong relationships with children, parents and colleagues
- Be able to work as a member of a team to support children and their families
- Provide and maintain stimulating learning environments for children both indoors and outdoors
- Have knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and contribute to planning the curriculum
- Have knowledge and experience of working with children with SEND
- Be flexible, adaptable and professional at all times
