SCITT Exceed SCITT, working with its Lead Partners, delivers high-quality school-led Initial Teacher Training (ITT) across Bradford, Keighley and Leeds. Exceed SCITT is an Ofsted Outstanding Provider of Initial Teacher Education and as an Accredited Provider can recommend for the award of Qualified Teacher Status. Our primary provision is well established with routes in the Primary 3-7 and 5-11 age ranges, including 5-11 SEND. In addition, Exceed Academies Trust is registered as a provider of the Level 6 Teacher Apprenticeship offering teacher training for apprentices across Yorkshire. From September 2024, Exceed SCITT will expand its provision further in offering Secondary programmes for the first time.

Exceed Academies Trust is an organisation that currently consists of thirteen academies; ten primary schools, an all-through primary-to-secondary academy, an alternative provision academy and a specialist setting for children/young people who suffer from social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Along with the SCITT, it has an Institute for Teaching and leads Exceed Teaching School Hub. Exceed SCITT has been successfully accredited to deliver ITT from 2024, following the ITT Market Review.

Exceed Academies Trust and Exceed SCITT is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Head of Primary ITT to lead and develop its primary provision, meeting the needs of its growing partnerships across the sector. The appointment reflects the expansion and diversification of its current provision. Exceed SCITT works with a growing number of partnership schools offering unique and innovative experiences to suit all Primary trainees, including those with an emerging interest and ambition to work within SEND.

This post is a unique opportunity for an outstanding and ambitious existing senior leader, experienced within primary teacher training and development, to lead and deliver the SCITT’s key priorities. The successful candidate would report directly to the Director of Exceed SCITT, and additionally work in close collaboration with other primary leadership colleagues across the organisation. We would welcome applications from candidates who can make a significant contribution to our diverse and inclusive organisation and wider partnership of schools.

The newly appointed Head of Primary will initially be based at our training campus at Holybrook Primary School, however the post offers opportunities for flexible working. The location of the campus enables partnership work both in Bradford and our training hub in Leeds.
