Catering Assistant
Salary: Band 3, SCP 2-3 (£9745 - £9922 (actual salary)
Hours: 20 per week, term time plus 10 days

Chellow Heights Special School would like to appoint a Catering Assistant to join our expanding team to work alongside our catering team based at the West site. The role involves supporting the Catering Manager to deliver high quality meals for our pupils, staff and visitors.
Vacancy Information
As a Catering Assistant you will work as part of the team working over the busy lunchtime period, helping to produce the daily menu to a high standard and assisting with washing up. You will have the confidence, skills and ability to work on your own in the kitchen when required, ensuring that all health and safety procedures are adhered to.
The successful applicant will have:
- NVQ 1 and 2 in catering and hospitality or equivalent but consideration will be given to candidates with skills, knowledge and experience
- Food and Safety Hygiene Certificate or willingness to complete training
- High standard of hygiene and an understanding of health, hygiene and safety procedures in a working kitchen
- Ability to work within a team as well as working alone
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills
- Excellent organisations skills and ability to work under pressure
