St Winefrides Catholic Academy are looking to appoint an Assistant Head Teacher, who can demonstrate outstanding practice, and work in partnership with the Senior Leadership Team and committed staff. This post will begin in January 2024.

This will be a 2 day a week teaching commitment role, with the remaining time committed to the development of curriculum, teaching, and learning and working with the Head of School on the running of the school.

This appointment offers a great opportunity for a new Assistant Head teacher to undertake a strategic role in our fantastic school 2 form entry school and take ‘Winnies’ to the next stage of its journey to outstanding. We are committed to staff and pupil wellbeing and provide opportunities for excellent CPD (Continuing Professional Development), cross school collaboration and strong partnerships across our 17 Trust Schools.

 The successful candidate will be:

  • Committed to the catholic faith and mission of our School
  • An outstanding teacher and role model, with a track record of raising standards of teaching and learning, leading to improved achievement and attainment.
  • Able to take a lead on developing the quality of education by supporting subject leads to monitor and develop our rich curriculum that is ambitious for all our children.
  • Have high expectations of themselves, colleagues and pupils and is unrelenting in their pursuit of excellence
  • Has a thorough understanding of how all assessment data can be used to bring about improved opportunities for children
  • Has experience of successfully supporting Ofsted and preferably S48 inspections
  • Positive, kind and have a good sense of humour.
