Assistant Special Education Needs Co-ordinator (Asst SENCO)  

Salary: Actual Annual Salary £26,834 - £28498.  SO1 SCP 23 - 25

Contract type - Permanent, 37 hours, Term time plus 2 weeks (40 weeks per annum)

In this new role you’ll assist in managing the provision for students with SEND and to support the SENCO in all areas. 

You’ll:

  • Assist the SENCO in leading provision within the academy including providing data and reporting on issues;
  • Manage and maintain student’s individual plans “This is Me”;
  • Ensure that EHCP outcomes are clearly communicated with classroom teachers and updated on “This is Me” following annual reviews;
  • Collate and prepare information regarding to assessments and referrals to other agencies under the SENCO‘s guidance;
  • Manage and maintain effective records to support the SENCO and monitor student progress identifying areas of underachievement;
  • Monitor and evaluate pupil responses and ensure that all pupil voice is collated;
  • Attend meetings as directed by the SENCO;
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with parents;
  • Support with the transition arrangements across school;
  • Support with the planning of Looked After Children arrangements

You’ll:

  • Understand SEND issues and have experience of working in a school;
  • An excellent communicator in writing and verbally, who can build strong partnerships;
  • Qualified to level 4 (a Degree is desirable);
  • Be a strong administrator who is able to develop and manipulate data;

Co-op Academy Southfield  (a 11-19 Special School) is part of The Co-op Academies Trust and is co-located with Co-op Academy Grange, a mainstream secondary Academy in Bradford, West Yorkshire.
