Hirst Wood Nursery School is seeking to appoint a committed, enthusiastic, hardworking and highly motivated professional to join our team of highly inclusive colleagues. We are proud to be an IQM Centre of Excellence and work hard meet the needs of all our children. We offer an exciting mix of approaches that make our learning environments provocative, inviting and stimulating. We believe in providing all children with every opportunity to fulfil their potential and are committed to providing a range of experiences to enrich children’s learning. The school is based in the UNESCO world heritage site of Saltaire, and we are integral to our community. The core of our School ethos ensures that staff, pupils, parents, governors and the wider community work together in partnership and we are proud to be additionally enhanced for children with special educational needs and disabilities. We have wonderful outdoor areas that includes a dedicated Forest School wilderness garden and a fire and tools area.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is an experienced and committed classroom practitioner, with high expectations of children’s achievement and behaviour.
  • Is dedicated to the school’s commitment to inclusion and achievement for all.
  • Has a track record of securing good or better progress for children through a play-based curriculum that is led by children's interests
  • Models and demands high expectations in all areas of the school from children and colleagues alike and who can lead and manage the work of others with vision, energy and sensitivity.
  • Is an excellent communicator and team player with strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence to motivate and inspire others.
  • Committed to their own and others’ professional development.
