Fixed Term - Part Time

We are looking to appoint an experienced Special Educational Needs Support Assistant (SENSA) to support a child who has Special Educational Needs and an Education Health and Care Plan. This is a fixed term position as funding is linked to the individual child. We are looking to appoint the new member of staff on a term time only contract.

20 hrs (mornings only): This post will support a child with Autism who is transitioning into school in combination with ABA. The successful individual will support the child to work on their learning targets using ABA approach. Support will be provided from an ABA Supervisor and Consultant and 27 hours of certified training will be provided alongside in house training and support. There will also be the opportunity to work closely with a speech and language therapist. Fixed Term to Aug 2023 in the first instance and with the opportunity for increased hours in the future.

We are looking for candidates who are:

  • Kind, supportive and patient when supporting children with behavioural and learning difficulties.
  • Have a minimum of 1 years experience of working with children with Autism or other Communication and Interaction difficulties including children who may use pre-verbal communication. Experience of working in a special school or resourced provision would be advantageous.
  • Experience of working 1:1 with a child with significant and complex needs
  • Keen to further their skills by accessing high quality training and CPD
  • Can work effectively as part of a team.
  • Able to be work as part of a team to set targets, monitor progress and evaluate processes.
  • Able to work with a child outside of the main classroom environment
