Family Support Worker

Location: Tong Leadership Academy, Westgate Hill St, East Bierley, Bradford BD4 6NR

Hours: 35 hours per week, 5 days per week term-time only plus 4 weeks to be worked in the school holidays plus inset days.

Salary: £23,565 – £26,233 per annum (this is the actual salary)

This is a fixed term contract until 31 August 2024.

We are looking for a Family Support Worker to join our team and to make a difference in children’s lives every single day. As the Family Support Worker, you will work in close partnership with school staff to deliver a programme of casework to promote and improve educational outcomes for the children and their families we support. You will also focus your support to help improve attendance, punctuality and engagement in learning, as well as supporting a reduction in both fixed term and permanent exclusions.

You will have excellent relationship building, creative and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate with a wide range of people. 

You will have previous experience of: 

  • working and engaging with parents, carers or guardians, children and young people through individual and/or group-based support
  • working in or with education settings
  • working effectively with SEMH affecting a child’s capacity to learn
  • working with families from diverse communities
