Do you have passion to support the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people? This is an exciting new opportunity to join our specialist team working with deaf, vision impaired and multi-sensory impaired children and young people.

We are seeking to recruit an experienced specialist practitioner to join our team of professionals in the Bradford Sensory and Physical Needs Service.

This post will initially be based at the Local Authority led Resourced Provision for deaf and vision impaired children and young people at Hanson Delta Academy.

You will work as part of a team of specialist staff to contribute to the effective and efficient teaching and learning for deaf and vision impaired pupils and will:

  • Complement the professional work of the resourced provision using specific knowledge and expertise to plan and deliver support, therapeutic interventions and learning activities for Deaf, VI and MSI pupils who have needs arising from adverse childhood experiences, attachment and relational trauma or who have SEMH needs.
  • Provide specialist support, advice and training as part of a team ensuring the SEMH needs of Deaf, vision impaired and MSI pupils are met effectively and consistently
  • Work directly with pupils and families to ensure a high standard of wellbeing and emotional support enabling positive engagement and attendance. Developing and delivering specific individual and small group therapeutic programmes and bespoke programmes of learning to support emotional regulation and wellbeing of Deaf, vision impaired and MSI pupils. Enabling access to learning and maximising potential to succeed for each learner
