We are seeking to recruit two creative, innovative and experienced Teachers of Deaf Children and Young People to join our team of professionals working with deaf children across the Low Incidence Team within the Local Authority Led Resourced Provisions.
We are willing to consider applications from outstanding teachers who wish to train as a Teacher of Deaf Children and Young People.
This post will initially be based at Hanson Delta Academy.
You will work as part of a team of specialist staff to contribute to the effective and efficient teaching and learning for deaf pupils at Hanson Delta Academy Local Authority led Resourced Provision and will:
- Teach and support deaf pupils in the secondary mainstream Local Authority Led Resourced Provision with reference to their education, social and emotional development, liaising with mainstream teachers, parents / carers and other professionals, agencies, and services as appropriate.
- Ensure the assessment and recording of pupils’ achievements and progress within statutory requirement and those of the school and Low Incidence Team and participate in appropriate meetings with colleagues and parents / carers relating to all duties in this document, preparing reports and other documentation needed to ensure deaf pupils’ needs are identified and appropriately met.
- Support the social and emotional wellbeing of children and young people by adopting an attachment aware and trauma informed approach to all practice. Applying agreed strategies for managing wellbeing including classroom management that fosters a nurturing and Emotion Coaching approach.
