The Governors, Staff and Parents of The Lilycroft and St Edmund’s Nursery Schools’ Federation are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and capable Kitchen Manager/Chef to join our kitchen team at St Edmund’s Nursery School.
As Kitchen Manager/Chef, you will manage the St Edmund’s kitchen team, producing a varied and nutritionally balanced daily menu to a high standard whilst meeting a wide range of dietary requirements. You will be responsible for monitoring stock levels and food ordering, negotiating on price and achieving best value where appropriate. You will ensure that all health and safety policies are adhered to and that the kitchen is a safe and clean environment at all times.
Hours of work will be Monday to Thursday 7.30am – 3.45pm and Friday 7.30am – 3.15pm
Vacancy Information
The successful applicant will have:
- NVQ 2 in professional cookery
- Food and Safety Hygiene Certificate
- High standard of hygiene and an understanding of health, hygiene and safety procedures in a working kitchen
- Good leadership skills
- Ability to work within a team as well as working alone
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to work under pressure
