The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile which is shown in this advert outlines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate.  Therefore, it is essential that you provide examples in your application.

PACT HR is a Traded Service of Bradford Council, providing a range of outsourced HR Advisory & Support Services predominantly to education establishments across the West Yorkshire District.  This post is part of the School Support Team, who provide effective, efficient, high quality HR contract and administration support to schools in the Bradford Metropolitan District.

The main responsibilities of the post are:

  • To be the contact for a group of allocated schools and process employment and contractual related instructions and correspondence.
  • To receive instructions from customers via a secure online system.
  • Ensure the instructions received are processed in a timely manner and in accordance with performance criteria.
  • Ensure work carried out is accurate and meets tight deadlines for processing.
  • Calculate salary and pay information and be aware of terms and conditions of service relevant to different employee groups supported.
  • Ensure template letters for each school are up to date and relevant to the circumstances of the school, i.e. show correct employer, pay scales etc.
  • Input information onto relevant computerised systems including the SAP payroll system, ESS, Civica EDM.
  • Liaise with customers to ensure staffing and establishment information is up to date and correct and undertake regular audits of staffing information.
  • Liaise with payroll to ensure that they receive all appropriate information and deal with any queries appropriately.
  • Maintain and manage relationships with the schools that they support.
  • Check the work of others as part of a checking rota within the team ensuring that any errors are highlighted, recorded and amended.
  • Visit schools as and when required to ensure that records are up to date and members of school staff are trained and updated.

  • Ability to manage workloads, carrying out tasks accurately and to a high standard
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines
