Vacancy Summary

Reception Teacher

Salary: Mps/UPS

Permanent - Full Time

Vacancy Information

We are looking for an outstanding reception teacher to take the lead in developing our early years’ practice whilst also receiving cutting edge training in early language and reading. We have invested significantly in our early years’ provision over the last few years and our new reception teacher will have a very well-resourced environment, both inside and outside, in which to teach our fantastic children.

We were designated as one of 34 DfE English Hubs across England in September 2018 and since then have supported over 300 schools across Bradford and North Yorkshire in phonics, early language and reading. You will continue to develop the excellent practice we already have in reception and showcase high quality early language and reading teaching for visiting teachers from across the area. Continuing professional and leadership development includes an additional opportunity to work as a Burley Woodhead English Hub Literacy Specialist, going out and supporting schools across the area, but this is not key to the role and will not be a deciding factor in appointing our new teacher.

  • You will be keen to share your outstanding practice with the many different visitors we have in school each year.
  • Be passionate about early reading and phonics and able to support other schools in developing their own practice.
  • Be reflective and keen to develop your teaching practice as part of the staff learning community.
  • Believe in a holistic and creative approach to teaching and learning.
  • Be supportive of our school’s Christian ethos

In return we offer:

  • A strong commitment to career development for all staff, with opportunities to lead training, deliver school to school support and develop your leadership skills.
  • Dedicated leadership and management time and leadership opportunities, including the opportunity to be a Literacy Specialist for Burley Woodhead English Hub if you wish.
  • Happy, confident, enthusiastic and hardworking pupils. who are eager to learn and who enjoy their time at school
  • A dedicated and highly skilled team of committed staff and governors.
  • Excellent links with parents and the wider community.
  • An attractive rural location with well-maintained and managed premises.
