The successful candidate must be flexible, adaptable, and willing to work with a range of pupils, with Autism, addition sensory processing needs, social, emotional, mental health needs, and challenging behaviours.
The work can be physically and emotionally challenging and it is essential therefore that the successful candidates are emotionally resilient and physically able to meet the demands of the posts.
Beechcliffe is a good school with an excellent reputation for standards of attainment. The core purpose of the Deputy Headteacher is to assist the Headteacher in providing professional leadership and management for our Thackley site.
Where the Headteacher is absent, from the school the Deputy Headteacher must undertake their professional duties to the extent required by the Headteacher or the relevant governing body
As the Headteacher is required to work across both sites, it is expected that the Deputy Headteacher will be required to undertake these duties frequently on a weekly basis.
The successful candidate will:
- Lead by personal example in demonstrating a full and professional commitment to excellence in a SEMH provision.
- Adopt and promote the school vision, which is Safe Joyful Learning for all.
- Occupy an influential position within the school and use this influence to support the agenda for achieving standards within the school.
- Lead professionals and significant role models within the school and the local community they serve.
- Carry out the duties of a deputy Headteacher as set out in the current edition of the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document issued by the Department for Education.
- Be expected to undertake any professional duties of a Headteacher reasonably delegated by the Headteacher.
- Join a highly experienced team and will receive support and training whilst working with us.
The successful candidate must be fluent in English – The Immigration Act 2016 has introduced a new requirement for public authorities from October 2016 to ensure that workers in customer facing roles speak fluent English. This is a statutory requirement.
