Vacancy Information

Amongst many other duties, you may be asked to encourage and support people to self-isolate.

Complying with self-isolation is essential to stopping this virus spreading. Whilst some of these people will have tested positive or come in contact with people who have tested positive, you will not be at risk as you will always be able to maintain 2 metres social distance, be trained and have all the relevant PPE.

You do not enter properties, all the doorstep work is undertaken in gardens.

These staff are making a real difference to infection rates in our district and to keeping people safe.

Bradford Council is looking to employ 60 new Covid Support Workers to do this important work. If you are interested in joining this team and making a difference in our district, then we would like to hear from you.

We are keen to hear from people who have the skills to communicate well with others. We are also keen to encourage people who speak community languages to apply to make sure that we are able to reach everyone in the district.

We would like to hear from people who have at least two days a week to work on this project and who are able to work at weekends and in the evening if required. You might be on short time or unable to work in your regular job, or you may have become unemployed during the pandemic.

This is not easy work, but it is the opportunity to make a real difference in our district, acting as a ‘navigator’ to other welfare and support services that people in the district may require. It will involve walking within areas of the Bradford District, you should make sure you wear appropriate clothing and footwear for outdoor work.

You will be engaged on a fixed term contract for 12 months at £10.21 per hour for up to 37 hours a week. All appropriate training and protective personal equipment (PPE) will be provided prior to you commencing in the role.

A copy of the role profile for these role can be found at www.skillshouse.co.uk by clicking on the  ‘Test and Trace’ button.

If you are interested in these roles, then an application can made through this website and you will be asked to demonstrate how you meet the essential criteria for the role.
