Vacancy Information

As part of the Specialist Teaching and Support Services which provides specialist teaching and education support to children and young people with Special Educational Needs we are looking to appoint an experienced and knowledgeable senior education leader to lead and manage a team of specialist teachers and practitioners who teach and support children and young people who have Special Educational Needs. They work in schools and with PVI settings to teach and model, support, advise and provide training. As part of our ambition to improve outcomes and opportunities for our children and young people with SEND this team has recently been restructured and has expanded so we can deliver a high quality and first rate service valued by our service users.

The candidate will be a qualified teacher and already have:

  • Extensive SEND knowledge
  • Substantial first hand experience across different areas of need
  • Quality first teaching and a minimum of 5 years leadership and management experience including delivering SEND  education services

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.
