Outreach Worker
£19,000 per annum, Permanent, 37 hours per week

To organise and promote participation in ESOL and Integration opportunities. This includes developing skills in literacy and numeracy, life skills or practical skills and learning how to use a computer amongst diverse communities, in non-traditional venues such as community centres, children's centres, libraries and churches.

Vacancy Information

You will

  • Work closely with local community and external partners, such as Job centre Plus staff, and other agencies
  • Prepare suitable courses to meet the needs of the students in the class within the framework of Integration
  • Organise educational outings and helping integration tutors
  • Organise and developing ways of working which are responsive to the particular requirements of speakers of other languages on ESOL courses and Citizenship
  • Engage with groups in Bradford particularly newly migrated from Third National Countries and involve them in Integration
  • Use creative methods to bring people together to participate in activities that promote inclusion and integration
  • Help to develop focal points for projects addressing and encourage more use of services provided Help to recruit learners and support volunteers for Integration Project
  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience as outreach worker in a community setting
  • Have experience of preparing Learners for English accreditation
