The Virtual School is dedicated to ensuring the District’s looked after children and young people achieve their potential. We support schools’ proactive planning, react to the unexpected and remove barriers to progress.
Bradford’s 1163 looked after children are located within and beyond the District. The Virtual School works to ensure that every child receives the best start in life that we, as corporate parents, can provide.
Unique colleague required
You will be a proactive, self-motivated and tenacious teacher with a background in either the primary or the secondary age ranges, core subjects or SEN/Inclusion who finds problem solving and role-diversity stimulating. Colleagues joining the team will work in the primary or secondary sectors to ensure each looked after child has an appropriate educational offer, co-ordinate, attend and where appropriate, lead on CLA related issues, particularly PEPs, manage cases through strategic and hands-on support, track progress and facilitate involvement of partner agencies within an agreed area. It is our intention that one of the posts recruited to will be required to have, as part of their portfolio, responsibility for the educational provision for children placed in the care of Bradford’s residential homes.
