The Academy Council of Our Lady and St Brendan’s Catholic Primary School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Pastoral Mentor to offer support and nurture to our wonderful pupils and their families.

The successful candidate will work closely with our children to remove barriers to learning and restore them to a place where they feel ready to learn.

We are looking for:

• A practicing Catholic or someone willing to support the Catholic ethos and wider Catholic life of our school.
• A proactive individual and an excellent communicator.
• A creative practitioner who is passionate about working with children.
• A sympathetic and patient professional who is happy to support our families.

This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of our wonderful team during an exciting period of growth in our school.

The ideal candidate will:

• Work closely with internal and external personnel to provide support to pupils and families experiencing difficulties.
• Be sympathetic and supportive of families to develop strong links in our community.
• Liaise with relevant outside agencies to provide appropriate intervention for pupils and families.
• Provide information, advice and structured intervention programmes to help pupils make positive choices.
• Be positive and solution focused to find the support available for families in need.
• Have positive interpersonal and communication skills.
