Administrative Assistant – Cottingley Village Primary School

Band 4 to Band 5, SCP 03 £18,562 - SCP 06 £19,698

(actual salary circa £13,811 to £14,652)

33 hours per week, Term Time Only

(Hours of work will be; Monday – Thursday, 8.30am – 3.45pm and Friday 8.00am – 3:45pm)

Cottingley Village Primary School is an inclusive, popular, friendly school. It has a forward thinking, dedicated and mutually supportive team and offers high standards of behaviour and relationships at all levels. 

We are looking for an Assistant Administrator to work well in our Admin Team. We are welcoming interest from school leavers who may wish to use and develop their skills as well as candidates who may be experienced. We want the right person for the role, not the perfect candidate!

Being part of our Multi-Academy Trust means that the Assistant Administrator will have a team of colleagues across the other Trust schools to work and collaborate with.

The school wishes to appoint a dedicated and supportive member of staff who will work effectively with our already established administration team in our busy and exciting school office.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Assist the Office Manager with regards to finance, administration and reception duties.
  • Support the Senior Leadership Team with data, orders, admin and other clerical/display duties.
  • Use a range of IT packages; including those linked to financial accounting systems.
  • Use their initiative effectively as part of a supportive team.

The successful candidate will:

  • Demonstrate either the ability to apply their skills to the role or be willing to learn quickly and effectively on the job.
  • Have minimum GCSE qualifications in Maths and English grade A-C or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate working successfully as part of a team.
  • Use excellent IT and communication skills.
  • Show excellent customer service skills, be friendly and welcoming.
  • Be flexible and willing to accept change.
  • Have a positive outlook and remain calm when working under pressure.
  • Contribute to the quality first impression that is given by the school.
  • Be patient and caring towards all pupils and adults they come into contact with.
